Consumers are entitled to the statutory right of withdrawal. A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly outside their trade, business or profession (§ 13 BGB — German Civil Code).
The online language course we offer is a digital service within the meaning of § 327 (2) sentence 2 BGB. The right of withdrawal is therefore governed by § 356 (4) BGB.
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period will expire after fourteen days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us

of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an e-mail). You may use the model withdrawal form attached below, but it is not obligatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
Compensation in case of early commencement of the service
If you requested that the service begin during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us, pursuant to § 357a (2) BGB, a reasonable amount which is in proportion to the services already provided up to the time at which you inform us of the exercise of the right of withdrawal, in comparison with the full coverage of the services provided for in the contract.
In the case of time-limited access, this proportionate amount is generally calculated according to the ratio of the access days already elapsed to the agreed access period.
Expiry of the right of withdrawal
In the case of a contract for the provision of digital services, the right of withdrawal expires if we have begun with the full performance of the contract after you
- have expressly consented to us beginning with the performance of the contract before the end of the withdrawal period, and
- have confirmed your knowledge that through your consent you lose your right of withdrawal upon the beginning of the performance of the contract, and
- we have provided you with a confirmation of the contract and of the above declarations pursuant to § 312f BGB on a durable medium.
We obtain this consent and confirmation of knowledge in the payment process via separate, non-pre-selected mandatory inputs. We send you the confirmation pursuant to § 312f BGB by e-mail without undue delay after the conclusion of the contract.
